Sweet Treats
By day, Joslyn Crowl is a professional photographer and mentor. She is also a recently published author. She has ventured into just about every creative outlet possible and loves giving gifts and creating things!
As a lover of gift-giving, she started making and giving sugar cookies to her clients.
In the past, she had made cupcakes for local police departments and fire departments at Christmas. This past winter she decided to give cookies a try.
It sparked joy in her and she has been making them give them to her clients at their photoshoots. As well as friends and family and now local orders.
As a daughter of a former baker growing up, baking sweet treats came naturally for Joslyn. Due to her schedule, she takes limited orders monthly.

I was asked one time ‘What don’t you do?” I answered drugs. I don’t do drugs.
From making t-shirts, resin, drawing, painting, writing, graphic designs, crocheting, glass etching, and decals, the list goes on and on and on and on. You name it, if it crafty, I’ve probably done it.
I’ve never been one that likes to cook, but although I don’t have a sweet tooth, I like baking. Probably comes from my mom always baking when I was growing up.
She ran a home bakery out of our house and eventually opened up her own Bakery on the Square in Sunbury Ohio. Which is now Yumee Donuts, the cover awning is still the same color she painted it, 20+ years ago.
When my parents moved to Florida she dived up and let me and my sisters pick cookie cutters. I took a lot of the Christmas ones, thinking that was the only time I would bake cookies. It is fun using her rolling pins and cookie cutters after spending my childhood watching her roll out dough.
In the winter I made 100s of cookies for the police departments and fire departments for Christmas and then started making them for my clients at the studio, each month a theme.
They have been a really big hit and although I’m not trying to make it a full-on business I have put in place the steps to make it a legal process and put my ducks in a row, and that needed a logo and a name. I’m all about keeping ‘branding’ simple.
What’s super funny, is everyone seems to love them, but I have no idea how they taste because I can’t have gluten.
So yeah, if you book a photoshoot at my studio chances are really high you’ll get a cookie too.
